The Annotated Legal Dictionary for European / Islamic Comparative Studies is a project promoted by Daniele Donati and made possible for the contribution of the King Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic Studies Alma Mater Studiorum “ Universiy of Bologna that aims to analyze the European and Islamic legal systems their legal principles in their proper meanings in connection with the different traditions histories and cultures. The idea that fosters this book is that a simple translation of the legal terms used in European and Islamic countries does not convey the ideas of what these terms refer to in a proper way nor it puts in the limelight the cultural context from which these terms stem and their historical background.
