This is the first book dedicated to the orchestral harmonicas, a class of instruments comprising bass and chord harmonicas that has gained great popularity in the fifties in the USA and Europe. Since then, harmonica bands, trios and quartets have slowly disappeared from the musical scene due to the wide introduction of amplified guitars and heavy drum sets. This book covers a lot of material on the subject, such as the history, construction and note layouts of the instruments, playing techniques used by professional players, amplification strategies, modern digital harmonica techniques, circular breathing, specific exercises to learn to play.
