Mtimet, Souissi and Mhamdi assess consumers’ awareness and consumption of organ- ic food products in Tunisia. The results of survey indicate that respondents’ perceptions towards organic food are positive. However, the proportion of consumers who purchase organic food on a regular basis is quite low (16%). Markou et al. analyse the unfair trading practices (UTP) existing in the Cypriot food supply chain. They assess, through a quantitative survey of a representative sample of busi- nesses, their impact on the involved stakeholders and provide guidelines that will assist the transposition of EU relevant Directive to the national law. According to the study analysis, two-thirds of the overall sample agrees that the Cyprus B2B food supply chain is affected by UTPs with a different frequency of occurrence. UTPs are imposed not only by strong players in the food supply chain, but also by individual crop/livestock farmers. To reinforce the role and the bargaining power of small businesses the authors suggest the development of efficient producers’ organizations, short food supply chains, interbranch organizations and strategic partnerships.
